Wassim Heneine is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Emerging Investment Partners (“EIP”). He has spent over 17 years in the Private Equity and Corporate Finance practice. Prior to EIP, Mr. Heneine was a Director of EuroMena Private Equity Fund Management Team where he spent five years and led some of the Fund’s investments in the MENA region including Lebanon, Egypt and Algeria in a variety of sectors. His responsibilities included: deal sourcing in the Levant and North Africa; deal execution (valuation, negotiation of LOI/SPA/SHA, due diligence coordination, co-investment sourcing, deal structuring and closing); monitoring and exiting portfolio companies (including service as Board member, executive, steering and corporate governance committee membership). Notable transactions at EuroMena include: acquisition of a majority stake in Egypt’s largest eye specialty hospital; acquisition of minority stake in Algeria’s leading Pharmaceutical companies. Mr. Heneine’ssectoral coverage includes healthcare, agriculture, food, consumer goods, retail, financial institutions, oil & gas, construction and IT.
Prior to joining EuroMena, Mr. Heneine was an Investment Banker in Paris at BNP Paribas covering emerging markets. In this capacity, he advised major clients including Saudi Arabian Airlines, the Government of Albania and regional banks in the Middle East on several transactions in the banking, insurance, airline, consumer goods among others. Prior to that, Mr. Heneine was a Manager in the transaction services department of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Paris and Boston where he performed buy side and sell side due diligence for financial and strategic buyers and sellers.
Mr. Heneine is a CFA charter, CPA holder, obtained his MBA (with honors) from Boston University, attended Oxford University and is also a graduate of American University Beirut. Mr. Heneine is a member of MENA PE Association, Egypt PE Association, CFA Institute Lebanon and LIFE.
